The craft beer movement is hopping in the heart of DC’s Wine Country and there is no better time than now to explore our breweries!

August is Virginia Craft Beer Month and Loudoun ranks among some of the top brewery destinations in the state. With close to a dozen breweries already open, brewmasters experimenting with new flavors and tap takeovers becoming a regular at Lansdowne Resort, you are sure to find the perfect brew in Loudoun!

Below are just some of the events and new brews being launched as part of Virginia Craft Beer Month. For a complete list of our breweries visit our brewery section.

Located in Purcellville, Adroit Theory makes esoteric craft beer with an emphasis on barrel aging and will make its debut at Epicurience Virginia on Aug. 30. Adroit’s tasting room usually features 6-8 beers and brewmasters plan to launch five more this month including Fear is Your Only God Saison- an imperial saison brewed with Mosaic hops and aged in a red wine barrel.

Old Ox Brewery, which is one of Loudoun’s newest breweries, is located just off the W&OD Trail in Ashburn. On August 18, Old Ox will be the featured brewery at Lansdowne Resort’s tap takeover at Stonewalls Tavern.

Lost Rhino, also in Ashburn, is one of Loudoun’s oldest breweries. The brewery offers live music on weekends, food, tastings and special release parties for new brews. For Virginia Craft Beer Month , staff has launched Native Son- its first beer brewed solely with local ingredients.

Beltway Brewing Company is a unique gem as it produces beer for several smaller breweries that don’t have big enough facilities. Visitors can taste what they are brewing with a visit to the tap room.
