Legendary authors F. Scott Fitzgerald and Thomas Wolfe both stayed at Welbourne Manor in their heyday: the 1930s. Later, both published stories using the house as a setting.

While JFK was in office, he and Jackie Kennedy leased a gorgeous 400-acre farm in Middleburg, Virginia dubbed Glen Ora.

Comedian Patton Oswalt (you know him as Spencer in King of Queens and the voice of Remy in Ratatouille) hails from Loudoun. He graduated from Ashburn’s Broad Run High School in 1987.

Hitchcock’s Marnie, starring Tippi Hedren and Sean Connery, was filmed in part in Middleburg and featured the historic Red Fox Inn and Tavern.

Deliverance author James Dickey started the famous novel while staying at Leesburg’s Glenfiddich House. His writing desk is still on site at the house.
