Culinary events abound for Epicurience Virginia weekend

From vineyard and farm-to-table picnics to a cocktail pairing dinner and parties at historic
estates, Epicurience Virginia has something for everyone during Labor Day weekend. Loudoun’s wineries, restaurants and attractions have created a series of fantastic events that highlight Virginia’s growing culinary and wine scene. Below is a list of other events we invite you to attend this year!
OpennightEpicurience Virginia Opening Night Reception- Virginia is for Food & Wine Lovers!
Aug. 29, Tickets: $150

Join Chef, TV host and author Nathalie Dupree at the official kick off of Epicurience Virginia weekend at the historic Marshall House. While there, meet the farmers, producers, and winemakers to learn how these unique Virginia products get from vine to glass and farm to fork. Some featured Virginia partners include Rappahannock Oyster Co. & Paradise Springs Winery, Caromont Farm, George’s Mill Farm & Albemarle Ciderworks, Border Springs Farm & Barboursville Vineyards.
Summer of Spain Wine Dinner at North Gate Vineyard
Aug. 30, Tickets: $90

Join winemakers Mark and Vicki Fedor for a gourmet, locally sourced menu with a Spanish flair. Executive chef Michael Kozich will use exquisite local ingredients to create Basque Country-inspired dishes paired with North Gate’s award-winning wines. Guests will also get to sample two Spanish wines and enjoy live music on the patio overlooking the vineyard.

Oatlands Fabulous 1940s PartyOatlands 40s Party
Aug. 30, Tickets: $95

Travel back in history as Oatlands Historic House and Gardens to celebrate the fabulous 1940s with a cocktail party and live music from Doc Scantlin’s Palmettos. Enjoy local food inspired by the peace treaty, cocktails and wine. Don’t forget to dress in your Hollywood glam attire!

 

Epicurience Virginia Brunch Spectacular at Salamander Resort & Spa
Aug. 31, Tickets: $75 adults, $18 children

Relax at America’s newest resort and take in the spectacular views of the Bull Run Mountains while enjoying Virginia wines, bottomless mimosas and numerous culinary selections including bountiful breakfast choices, carving stations, a seafood display and decadent desserts. Be sure to stop and chat with some local vintners and play a game with the family like giant Jenga.

A Picnic in the Vineyard
Aug. 31, Ticket: $100 for up to two people

Create the perfect picnic in DC’s Wine Country with the help of Greenhill Winery & Vineyards. Select up to three items to enjoy from the winery’s onsite farmer’s market then receive a bottle of wine, picnic blanket and tote before picking a place at the vineyard to relax and enjoy the rolling countryside.

Tour Fresh, Tour Local at Goodstone Inn & Restaurant
Aug. 31, Tickets: $65

Goodstone-ImageExperience farm-to-table cuisine at Goodstone’s beautiful 265-acre estate. Learn about responsible, earth-friendly farming practices while touring the farm with Farm Manager Chris Hines. The tour concludes with a gourmet picnic prepared by Executive
Chef Johnathan Leonard featuring foods from the farm, and complimentary farm-fresh veggies, herbs or eggs to take home.

Catoctin Dinner at Magnolias
Aug. 31, Tickets: $85

Get a behind-the-scenes look at Catoctin Creek Distillery and learn from owners Scott & Becky Harris how they make whisky, gin and brandy in their historic building. After, walk to Magnolias at the Mill to enjoy a four-course meal paired with cocktail concoctions from Catoctin.
