Fallin’ For Fall Brews on the LoCo Ale Trail
Fall is, of course, about pumpkin carving, fireside sitting and apple picking. But, one of my favorite things about the season is trying all of the new seasonal beers from the breweries on the LoCo Ale Trail. From pumpkin ales to amber lagers, the LoCo Ale Trail has them all. Here is a list of just a few of the Fall beers you can try:
Belly Love Brewing Company – Marzen Lager
Belly Love Brewing Company in Purcellville is highlighting their Marzen Lager for this season. It is a simple rich amber lager with a clean, toasty and bready malt flavor and a subdued hop presence.
Ocelot Brewing Company – Witching Hour
What is more Fall than a beer named “Witching Hour”?! Ocelot Brewing Company hit the nail on the head of the zombie with this Oktober style lager that is malty and ready with a smooth finish.
Lost Rhino Brewing Company – RhinO’fest
Lost Rhino Brewing Company‘s marzen amber lager is an excellent companion to Autumn’s first chill with its full body, malty flavors and a clean, dry finish. This beer was also the gold medal winner in the Marzen category at the 2013 Great American Beer Festival and the silver medal winner in the Marzen category for the 2016 World Beer Cup.
Old 690 Brewing Company – Old Lady Pumpkin Ale
This season beer from Old 690 Brewing Company is for Pumpkin Pie lovers! There is over 20 pounds of pumpkin in the mash to give a hint of pumpkin flavor followed by classic spices that grandma used in her homemade pies. This one will certainly bring back memories of Fall.
Dog Money Restaurant & Brewery – Dog Money Oktoberfest
True to Bavarian style, Dog Money Restaurant & Brewery’s, one of the newest additions on the LoCo Ale Trail, Oktoberfest is a smooth and balanced brew with maltiness and a modest touch of hops with a rich caramelized hue.
