Loudoun’s “Farm-to-Fork” Showcases Local Food and Wine

Posted on Jul 18, 2011 by in Dining & Local Flavors | 0 comments

This Thursday, July 21 through Sunday, July 31, a new event will premier in the county: Farm-to-Fork Loudoun. This 11-day event is a collaborative effort between the agricultural, culinary, and winery communities of Loudoun. This isn’t just your run-of-the-mill (insert agricultural joke here) restaurant week. Far from it. All participating chefs and restaurant owners have committed to using at least 70 percent locally sourced food. Restaurant patrons may order from specially created Farm-to-Fork Loudoun menus featuring some of the county’s best locally grown and raised produce, beef, lamb, and poultry, complimented by a selection of Loudoun wine and spirits. Inspired by a current national movement that poses the question, “where does our food come from?”, this is a true celebrationof all things local. Be sure to visit any of 21 fine culinary sites to discover the bounty of Loudoun and the skills and passions of the people who bring your food and spirits from farm to table. We hope to see you here!
