Mother's Day picnic

Your mom is pretty incredible. She birthed you, she raised you, she put up with your temper tantrums — doesn’t she deserve some special attention? Next Sunday is the occasion when we honor those special ladies, so you’ve got exactly six days to plan something amazing for the moms in your life, be it your mother or the mother of your children. Any day spent in DC’s Wine Country is a special one but we know just how to make mom feel extra special, from brunches to wine tastings and beyond. Check out some of the ways moms are being honored in Loudoun this weekend:

Asparagus Bouquet Mother’s Day Weekend at Great Country Farms: Roses are so cliché. Surprise the moms in your life with delicious bouquets of fresh-cut asparagus. Plus, join in the fun at the farm, from buying baked goods at the market to digging into a strawberry sundae at the Roosteraunt concession stand.

Mother’s Day at 868 Estate: Wine, beer, grilled salmon, soft tacos, and live music will make for a memorable Mother’s Day. Let the kids play in the field while mom relaxes on the patio with a glass of sangria.

Mother’s Day at Doukénie Winery: Bring mom along for a wine tasting and she’ll receive a free herb of her choice to plant in her garden or use in her cooking. Scoop up some cheese and crackers and have a picnic alongside their pond.

Mother’s Day Brunch at Lansdowne Resort: Treat your mom or the mother of your children to the best of the best at Lansdowne’s classic brunch. They’ll be offering an assortment of starters, entrees, attended stations, desserts, and more. Reservations required.

Mother’s Day Brunch at Holiday Inn Dulles Airport: Honor your beloved mom or the mother of your children with delicious eats like slow roasted pork tenderloin, eggs benedict, baked apple tarts, and more. Reservations required.

Mother’s Day at Grandale: Bring mom in for an amazing farm-to-fork meal, including selections like Maryland Crab Cake Benedict and a Miso Grilled Cod. Or, come in for dinner for options like a Lobster Bouche appetizer or a Muscovy Duck Breast in vanilla saffron sauce. Reservations required.

Mother’s Day Brunch at Breaux Vineyards: For the foodie moms, Chef Author of Grandale Resturant has concocted a special menu for the big day. Courses will include grilled salmon, a petite filet mignon, and a carrot bundt cake, paired with Breaux wines. Reservations required.

Mother’s Day with Wine & Roses: At Willowcroft Farm Vineyards, you can treat your mom to two of her favorite things: a flower and some vino. The perfect pairing.  Reservations required.
