The Ultimate Girls’ Day!
Hey everyone, guest blogger here! My name is Shelby Stein, and I have had the pleasure of interning for Visit Loudoun. I have lived in Loudoun County my entire life, so getting to design my dream girls’ day in Loudoun was really fun, and I’m excited to be able to share it with you!
If you’re a Parks and Recreation Fan then you know, it’s the best day of the Year! It’s time to “Treat Yo Self!” If you have no idea what I’m talking about, turn on Netflix and binge watch Parks and Rec! I personally will take any excuse I can for a fun girls’ day spent relaxing, eating delicious food, shopping and looking beautiful- and you should too! So ladies, gather your friends, clear your schedule and let’s have the ultimate girls’ day in Loudoun County!
We’ll start the day off with the most important meal of the day. No, not breakfast, because we deserve to get our beauty rest, so let’s do brunch instead! Luckily, Magnolias at the Mill serves brunch until 2:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Located in Purcellville, the restaurant features feature six different champagne cocktails and two different Bloody Mary recipes. Make sure you try the Vanilla Malted Belgian Waffle topped with whipped cream and powdered sugar (OMG). For a more savory option, try the Mediterranean Egg White Frittata that has spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, feta cheese and olive tapenade. Both dishes are served with fresh fruit.
Now that our stomachs are happy, the next stop is Rouge Spa and Boutique in Historic Leesburg for some relaxation and pampering. Rouge has an adorable boutique in the front of the store where you can shop for scented candles, lotions, body scrubs, perfumes and more! Or, try one of the beauty day packages perfect for a Treat Yo Self kind of day. The Island Escape features a deep cleansing European Facial, Eye treatment to minimize lines and help sinus congestion and a 30 minute Aromatherapy/Swedish Massage. Or, you can completely customize your experience by picking à la cart options for massages, facials and body wraps.
No girls’ day is complete without shopping for some cute clothes to add to your closet! Take a break from the crazy mall scene and explore some unique clothing boutiques to suit any fashionista’s style! Browse the Jeans Whisperer in Historic Leesburg for jeans, dresses, tops, skirts and way more!
Practically right next door is another boutique called Madisonbelle. Try on a wide selection of contemporary clothing and accessories from designers like Free People and Citizens of Humanity.
Now it’s time for a night out in One Loudoun, Loudoun’s new downtown! There are exciting restaurants and activities for all ages. The first stop in this walkable urban neighborhood is FLOW Blow Dry and Beauty Bar. FLOW is where glamour and wellness meet. Enjoy a high quality, organic blowout or meet with a makeup artist to get a glamorous evening look. Don’t forget to stop at the brow and lash bar for those important finishing touches!
Now that we’ve got a fabulous new look, it’s time to try the delicious restaurants and sip on some signature cocktails.
