It’s about that time of year when everyone is planning spring break trips. The first idea that always comes up is heading to the beach, but as a fair-skinned redhead who can’t be outside for more than ten minutes without scrambling for sunscreen, I like to think beyond the beach, which always leads me to Loudoun. There are so many great activities in Loudoun to plan your spring break trip around and here are my top 5:

TopGolf

Golf: My idea of golf and yours may be different because I can barely beat my little sister at putt-putt, but that is why I absolutely love TopGolf. A unique twist on a classic game, TopGolf offers the chance to shoot microchipped golf balls onto a 240-yard outfield with multicolored targets that create a great environment for all skill levels. For those who know the difference between a wedge and an iron, Loudoun has 5 championship courses for you to take a swing at with family and friends (pun intended).

Wine: With over 40 wineries, it will definitely take more than a spring break weekend to try them all. But, with the diverse experiences at the vineyards, it’s easy to find the ones that fit your style. I’m all about a glass of wine with a beautiful view so I have my go-tos like Bluemont Vineyard and Hillsborough Vineyards. Enjoying glasses of wine is always more fun when you don’t have to drive so look into the Winery Tours by Reston Limo while you’re in LoCo.

Relaxation: Everyone relaxes differently, but my idea of relaxation is a spa day paired with retail therapy. Luckily for me, and everyone I work with

who knows what I’m like when I’m stressed out, Loudoun has both. I would head to Lansdowne Resort for the Girlfriends Spa Getaway in the morning then spend the day at the Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets buying way more than I need and enjoying every second of it.

Beer: The #LoCoAleTrail has taken off in the past year and so has my love for craft beer. I was stuck in my domestic beer days until I discovered the greatness of Loudoun brews. From the crazy flavors at Adroit Theory to the sours at Ocelot Brewing, I have become LoCo for the LoCoAleTrail (see what I did there). The Ale Trail is a great way to organize your spring break in Loudoun with the many itineraries already built for you. Just pick your favorite and enjoy!

Adventure: Spring break is all about enjoying the beautiful weather and while I’m sitting in my office wishing I could be working outside, I can’t help but hope

that my Loudoun spring break will include a trip to Empower Adventures in Middleburg for an adventurous ride through the trees on the zipline or to Harpers Ferry Adventure Center to climb their three-level aerial adventure ropes course that gets the adrenaline pumping.

Actually, now that I think about it, I hope that my spring break adventure in Loudoun includes it all! Share your adventures in Loudoun with #LoveLoudoun.
